2. What you are buying

Each piece sold by Eugénie's Secret Museum is a finished framed object composed of:

an archival fine-art edition — an archival pigment print of a historic work, printed at 300 dpi from high-resolution master files on fine-art paper;
a genuine 19th-century antique frame, sourced individually in Paris;
UV-protective glazing;
a signed Certificate of Unique Pairing confirming that this pairing of frame and image is made once and never repeated.

The print is an archival edition and is not an original painting or drawing by the artist. The antique frame is a genuine object of the 19th century, sourced independently in Paris; it is not historically associated with the original artwork, and the pairing of frame and image is a contemporary curatorial decision. Because each frame is an object that has already lived, small irregularities in the gilding, wood or finish are part of its history and are not defects.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euros and, where indicated, with an approximate US dollar equivalent for guidance only; the amount charged is in euros. VAT is not charged (art. 293 B of the French tax code).

Trade pricing is available to interior designers and architects on request. Private collectors are welcome by appointment. Sales are agreed by direct correspondence; payment terms are confirmed in writing before dispatch.

4. Shipping, duties and taxes

Every object ships insured from Paris within one week of the order being confirmed.
For deliveries to the United States, delivery duties are paid — no customs charge is payable on receipt.
For other destinations, any import duty or tax is determined by the local customs authority and is payable by the recipient unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Risk of loss or damage passes to you on delivery. Shipments are insured; please report any transit damage on receipt, with photographs, so we can act quickly.

5. Right of withdrawal — fourteen days

Where you buy as a consumer at a distance, you have fourteen calendar days from the day you receive the piece to withdraw from the sale, without giving any reason. Simply write to atelier@eugeniesecretmuseum.com, or use the form below.

After notifying us, return the piece within fourteen days, in its original condition and packaging.
Because these are framed objects under glass, please repack them in the original crate or an equivalent rigid, insured packing. Return shipping and insurance are at your expense, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
We refund the price of the piece plus the standard outbound delivery cost, by the original payment method, within fourteen days of being informed of your decision. We may withhold the refund until the piece has been received back and inspected.
Your refund may be reduced to reflect any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and condition of the piece.

6. Damage, defects and legal guarantees

If a piece arrives damaged or is not as described, contact us immediately with photographs. We will assess the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law. Because each finished pairing is unique, an identical replacement may not be possible.

Independently of the terms above, every purchase by a consumer is covered by the guarantees provided under French law:

Legal guarantee of conformity (Code de la consommation, art. L217-3 et seq.) — two years from delivery. If the item does not match its description, you may request repair or replacement, and a price reduction or refund where that is not possible.
Guarantee against hidden defects (Code civil, art. 1641 et seq.) — two years from discovery of the defect.

7. Complaints and consumer mediation

Please write to us first at atelier@eugeniesecretmuseum.com. We aim to reply within five business days and to resolve any complaint within one month.

Consumers resident in another EU country may also contact the European Consumer Centre (ECC) in their country of residence.

8. Intellectual property

The works reproduced in Collection I are by artists whose work has entered the public domain. The photographs, texts, page designs and the name Eugénie's Secret Museum are the property of the publisher and may not be reproduced without written permission.

9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by French law. This does not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence.
